Following the budget officially being signed into law and based on recent communication from the Division of Early Learning, we are reaching out to notify you that the $100 million supplemental allocation to support the $15/hour incentive for VPK educators during the 2022-23 program year has come to an end. We were thankful for the opportunity to implement this initiative over this past year to better support you in the ability to increase your early learning professionals’ hourly wage.

Although the funding for this particular initiative is ending, the legislature did increase the recurring VPK base student allocation. New rates for the 2023-2024 VPK program year will be:

  • Hernando’s rates increased from $2,689.20 to $2,802.60 for school year programs and from $2,295.00 to $2,394.00 for summer programs.
  • Pasco’s rates increased from $2,748.60 to $2,883.60 for school year programs and from $2,349.00 to $2,460.00 for summer programs.

While this increase will not take the place of this initiative, we do believe that it will help provide some much-needed relief in hopes of seeing additional funding for hourly wage increases in the future.

We appreciate all that you do in our community to continue to support our youngest learners!
