Transition to Kindergarten Event – April 26, 2025

The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando hosted a successful Transition to Kindergarten event on April 26, 2025, at the Hernando County Library. The event brought together families, community partners, and local organizations in a day filled with resources, activities, and support for children preparing to enter kindergarten.

Transition to Kindergarten can be a challenging time for children. Transition refers to the totality of experiences and opportunities a child encounters in moving from one program or setting to another. Opportunities and experiences that familiarize children and families with new settings, expectations and relationships can help make connections that ease adjustments. This event is designed to provide children and families with a fun, interactive way to get ready for kindergarten while also fostering a love for learning.

We are proud to share those 76 children received backpacks, summer bridge activities, and other essential resources to help them continue learning throughout the summer.

We extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful vendors who participated, including:
• Florida Department of Health (DOH) Hernando County
• Premier Community HealthCare
• Hernando County School District (HCSB)
• Tampa General Hospital – Spring Hill
• Hernando County YMCA

A special thank you to our event sponsors, Tampa General Hospital Spring Hill and Simply Healthcare, for their generous support in making this event possible.

We are also grateful to the Hernando County Library for graciously allowing us to host this important community event at their beautiful location.

Together, we are building strong foundations for our youngest learners — thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
