ANTI-FRAUD

What is Fraud?

Fraud is an intentional deception, omission, or misrepresentation made by a person with knowledge that deception, omission, or misrepresentation may result in unauthorized benefit to that person or another person, or any aiding and abetting of the commission of such an act.

What are some Common Types of Fraud?

Parent/Guardian

•Failing to accurately report all household members such as a “spouse” or “significant other”

•Failing to report all income sources, such as a second job or child support payments (private pay or court ordered)

•Providing any false/altered documentation

Childcare Providers

• When a provider signs a child in on a day the child is absent to ensure payment, or when a provider asks a parent/guardian to sign a child in or out when the child was not actually present.

•Instructing a parent/guardian not to report changes to the Coalition.

•Providing any false information to obtain payments for SR or VPK
