The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco, Hernando, and Humana Healthy Horizons
Unveils New Owlivia’s Book Nook
HUDSON, FL. May 19, 2026 — The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando (ELCPH) is proud to announce a new Owlivia’s Book Nook literacy space at the Create Center at Metropolitan Ministries’ Miracles for Pasco campus in Holiday. This literacy space was made possible through the generous support of Humana Healthy Horizons, whose commitment to improving the well-being of Florida families extends beyond health care to supporting opportunities that help children thrive.
The Miracles for Pasco campus serves local families year-round through its Family Support Center, providing hot meals, transitional housing, childcare, education, and employment training. The addition of Owlivia’s Book Nook creates a welcoming environment where children and families can connect through the joy of reading and build strong early literacy skills together.
Through the Owlivia’s Book Nook initiative, ELCPH is expanding access to quality books and literacy resources for families beyond the preschool classroom, particularly in communities with lower kindergarten readiness rates. These spaces help foster positive reading experiences, encourage family engagement, and support healthy early childhood development.
“At Humana Healthy Horizons in Florida, we are proud to partner with the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando and Metropolitan Ministries to support Owlivia’s Book Nook. By creating welcoming literacy spaces, we are helping to build a strong foundation for children’s success and well-being. Together, we are committed to making a meaningful difference and ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.” Said Cara Meeks, Director, Member Impact and Community Engagement.
“At the Coalition, we believe every child deserves a strong start in life,” stated by ELCPH Executive Director, Steve Knobl, Ph.D. “Access to books and positive early literacy experiences can change the trajectory of a child’s future. Owlivia’s Book Nook helps create opportunities for families to read, learn, and grow together while building the foundational skills children need for success in school and beyond.” Expanded by Dr. Steve Knobl. By working together with the support of dedicated community partners like Humana Healthy Horizons, we are helping inspire young readers and build brighter futures, one book at a time.
