Dear Providers,
We are reaching out to share important information regarding provider eligibility for the School Readiness (SR) and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) programs, specifically related to licensing status.
In accordance with Florida Statutes 1002.55 and 1002.88, a SR and/or VPK provider may not deliver the School Readiness or Voluntary Prekindergarten program while holding a probation-status license under s. 402.310. This means:
1.If a currently contracted SR and/or VPK provider is issued a probationary license during the program year, they are no longer in compliance with their existing SR and/or VPK contract and therefore:
- May not continue to deliver the School Readiness or Voluntary Prekindergarten program, and
- The contract is subject to termination as outlined in Section X. Noncompliance, Probation, and Termination on page 15 of the SR contract form (DEL-SR 20) and Section XI. Termination and Noncompliance on page 11 of the VPK Contract form (DEL-VPK 20).
2.Providers with a probationary license are not eligible to enter into a new SR and/or VPK contract.
- If a provider currently holds a probationary license, they are not eligible to execute a new SR and/or VPK contract until the upcoming program year.
We understand these situations can be complex, impact program operations, and families. Please contact us immediately if your licensing status changes or if you have questions about your eligibility.
Thank you for your continued commitment to providing quality early education to our children and families.
